The professional role of Transplant Hepatologist was created by A.I.S.F. to identify , by means of a strict assessment, hepatologists who have the specific competences and skills for the global management of patients with advanced liver diseases during the pre-transplant phase, and for the management of short- and long-term issues of liver transplant patients.
AISF drafted this document, the first Italian example of medical professional certification, with the help of Kiwa Cermet Italia S.p.A., the non-profit entity that also drafted the certification of the Medicine and Surgery Specialty Schools at a national level.
